The OCCOA Age-Tech Department currently offers two programs to help older adults learn more about technology and how to better use their smartphones: Age-Tech Lunch & Learn Sessions and Smartphone Assistance Training.
Age-Tech Lunch & Learn Sessions
The Age-Tech department offers Lunch & Learn, a monthly educational program exploring the world of technology for social engagement and life-long learning. Do you have any interest in learning about what is new in today’s technology? If so, please join us for our monthly Lunch & Learn Sessions! Then come for lunch, on us, in the dining room (located on the lower level) afterward. To register, please contact David Parrett at (989) 748-4069, at least one day prior.
Your participation provides opportunities for:
- Socializing with peers who share your interest in technology
- Sharing your skills and knowledge with your peers
- Learning more about technology and how it can bring you closer to family and friends

Smartphone Assistance Training
The OCCOA Age-Tech Department offers Smartphone Assistance Training every Monday and Friday for older adults who are struggling to use their smartphones or who would like to get better use out of them. Trained volunteers are on hand to provide assistance with the following:
- Answering calls
- Listening to voice mails
- Making and answering video calls
- Blocking unwanted texts
- Saving addresses in contacts
- Using your phone’s calendar
- Finding and downloading apps
- Using the Internet
- And much more!
Smartphone Assistance Training is scheduled as follows:
