Congregate Meal Program Survey Update!

The OCCOA Research Department recently conducted a Congregate Meal Program Survey among diners who have eaten at least one meal at any of its three meal sites (OCCOA Congregate Meal Site, Mill Street Congregate Meal Dining Out Program and/or The Old Depot Congregate Meal Dining out Program) since October 1, 2023. The agency is required to survey participants  in accordance with grant operating standards set by Region 9 Area & Agency on Aging to determine diners’ satisfaction with the program.

Survey respondents were given the opportunity to enter a drawing for one of two $50.00 gift cards when they submitted their surveys. The winners of the drawing are Dawn Detzler and Douglas Galer. Congratulations to both!  The OCCOA extends its thanks to the 261 of 417 Congregate Meal Program diners who received and submitted their surveys. Diners who have not yet completed the survey they received will still have an opportunity to submit through Friday, May 31, 2024.

The OCCOA provides nutritious meals for Otsego County older adults in congregate meal settings and to home-bound older adults. The Dining Out program model is recognized as one possible type of congregate meal setting. Operating Standards from the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging help ensure that this valuable program is nutritionally sound, and available on a donation basis to those who are eligible. Donations to the congregate meal program are critical to the success and sustainability of the program, and are always appreciated and welcome.  Donations help extend the program to those most in need.
