OCCOA Advocacy Department/MMAP Counselor Position
Full time position available with the Otsego County Commission on Aging (OCCOA). Looking for a compassionate person with excellent person-centered service skills. Counseling is provided to clients regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security issues and much more. Medicare, Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) training is required and provided.
Dedication to clients, agency staff and the community is expected. Must be a team player committed to following ethical standards, policies and procedures of our agency. Candidates must possess the ability to serve clients with compassion and dignity, which will empower clients to maintain their safe, independent living style. Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is preferred, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Internet browsing capability and proficient computer skills required. Benefit package available.

In-Home Service Provider
Part-time service provider position available at the Otsego County Commission on Aging (OCCOA). Agency is seeking caring compassionate person with excellent professional skills. Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) certification preferred but not required. Training available. Must be a team player committed to policies and procedures of the agency.
In-Home Service providers assist area older adults with light homemaking tasks, personal care, and respite care. Work schedule provides and requires flexibility. A strong asset of dependability is necessary. Position requires accepting short/long term assignments on short notice.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Pre-employment drug-screen testing as well as physical exam required.
