Educational Breakfast Series

Since 2004, the Otsego County Commission on Aging (OCCOA) has offered an EDUCATIONAL BREAKFAST SERIES program which is targeted, in part, toward that segment of  Otsego County's older adult population that is interested in short-term, lighter-fare education which they can apply to their own life situations.  Each program is different, so attendees can pick and choose from a wide variety of topics and attend the ones that appeal to them the most.

Each program features a guest
speaker and a group of panelists.

An OCCOA staff person facilitates each program, which includes a guest speaker and a group of panelists
who are knowledgeable about the program topic. The speakers and panelists usually reside and work in Otsego County and might include some combination of professionals, business owners, agency staff members and clients.  All are there as volunteers!

During the course of the program, attendees have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious continental breakfast, sip coffee, and listen to the presentations prepared by the speakers and panelists. A twenty-minute question-and-answer session is allotted at the end of each program, allowing attendees to directly address the speakers and panelists.  Educational handouts and reference materials are usually available for them to take home, and they also have the opportunity to evaluate the program and make suggestions for future topics.  Although the Educational Breakfast Series program is targeted toward older adults and their caregivers, all are welcome to attend.

The next Educational Breakfast Series will be held on:
